Re: NYE thoughts

Well, truth be told, I did alter the course of the thread a little when I mentioned all the doomsayers we outlasted, which changed the tone a bit.

To rectify, let's remember this: A New Year is a great time to realign one's priorities. But one can do that at any day of the year!

Re: NYE thoughts

We outlasted Harold Camping and the Mayans (sounds like a '50's Doo-wop group, doesn't it?)

Welcome to 2013!

Re: Happy New Year! Time For Your Ass-kicking....

Sage advice, Steve. I was feeling a bit low about last year, but I'm optimistic for 2013. I'm a smart, capable, motivated guy. I need to help them know that! Frank: I grew up near the Navajo nation. I have a smattering of knowledge of that language, but know nothing of the hundreds of others still s...

Happy New Year! Time For Your Ass-kicking....

Goals are hard. Change is hard. But things are going to be different. Why? This: http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-harsh-truths-that-will-make-you-better-person/ It's harsh, it's a beat-down. And if there is something amiss in your life (career, true love, etc.), reading this will stick out in your mind...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Long time, no see, everyone. Sorry I've been neglecting this forum lately. It's time for that to change.
BTW, Is there anyone here NOT following David Gerrold's facebook page? A great deal of common sense, there. Frank, you'd love it.

Re: Someone needs to talk me out of this....

It's hit and miss how tattoos look on people, and it's often in the eye of the beholder. But if you believe in your heart of hearts that it will look great on you, then it most likely will. Our generation was the first to make body ink fashionable, but it's the Millenials who are truly getting inked...

Hasn't Harlan called people "kiddo" since he was in his mid 40's? And he looked like a kid up until his heart trouble in the early 90's, when he was around 60 or so. I'm one of those genetically lucky people who can pass for mid thirties although there will soon be a half century's worth o...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

All I'm saying is that the hand wringing and anxiety, which we all felt after that first debate, can be put to productive use. I participated in my first battleground state phone bank on Sunday. Got hung up on a few times, but had the opportunity to speak to people who were on the fence (Nevada, in ...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Frank, did you read my post on the Pavilion? Actually, you have an advantage: you live in the one state Romney cannot lose. Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Virginia. But especially Ohio. So what'cha gonna do, man? *WHAT'CHA GONNA DO????* Seriously: get involved. Hand wringing doesn't do anyone an...

Re: Old Car Getting Too Expensive

I've needed a new vehicle for a few years now, but my work situation prevents that from happening for now. Hence, my Honda Civic, with 440,000 miles, got an engine rebuild last month, and over the next few months I'm going to replace the drivers seat, windshield, and floor mats. If it'll carry me fo...
