Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

------------- Decent video on the aspect of Peak Oil. Interesting, Greg Palast doesn't believe it. My boy Chomsky and Kunstler on the same video--neato: http://www.thenation.com/video/157441/peak-oil-and-changing-climate Thanks for that link Frank. I'm looking forward to the rest in the series.

Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

Lori, If you want to learn some the American History that was not taught to you, in ANY school, go get a copy of Howard Zinn's classic, "A People's History of the United States." It covers dates from 1492-2005. Any good book store, or library should have it. You can get online in print, e-...

Re: Frank Church's news corner, the sequel.

Lori,
I don't know of any "intellectual" who would have endorsed Pol Pot. I KNOW that Chomsky doesn't, and Zinn didn't. Those are two names that I personally respect.

Gimme a break Barber!
Those guys have been forcasting the rapture for a hundred years, and it hasn't come yet!
I wish it would come already, so those folks can get ruptured, I mean raptured already. Then they wouldn't be an inhibition to society's progress.

Re: Best Wishes for the New Year 2011!

Glad that there is but one year left of this shit! From past History, it seems that we are entering a New Dark Ages. This one will probably be worse from the rest, because we, as a civilization, have a long way to fall. All throughout history, societies seem to falter within the first 20 or so years...

Re: Close your eyes. What do you see?

That depends on how long I've been staring at the screen. Generally there's just the after-image effect. You know, like the one with the yellow and blue flag, and it appears to be the proper colors...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Rick,
I understand your concern, but believe me that they probably have had much greater threats. When you take it in context, think of who it comes from, and how much of a threat he is ;-)

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Okay, I'm taking bets here on whether or not, and how much Harlan will crucify me for my last bit of drivel in the Pavillion. Any takers? Was it too cloying, to the point, or way out of bounds? I really hate writing such fawning drivel, but when circumstances necessitate it, I comply. I really do be...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

Diane, The reason that I surmise that half of the people that publicly state that they are "believers," in public, are liars, is because they are afraid that they may be outed in some way. They know deep in their psyche that it's all mythology, but will not admit it, for fear of harm to th...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Well since I believe only in Dog, how about I call her, "her doggess," Susan?

Some how I don't think that that would get me in with the good graces of Mrs. Ellison.

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

That just means that three of ten people are willing to ADMIT that religion has no influence on them. When you consider that half of the "believers" are liars, at least to someone who would ask them publicly, that number goes way up.

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Guys, I appreciate the words of wisdom, but while more exercise and better eating will help my weight, it really doesn't have an effect on a slipped or herniated disc. People in the best possible physical condition can injure themselves exactly the same way I did... Don't I know. Quite a few years ...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Gee Steve, You have to get out and take a walk once in a while. They say at least a half hour a day. I know, it's a lot of time, in these busy days, but you must do it. AT LEAST that. Even if you have to drive somewhere to walk for half an hour. I hope that you have a speedy and as painless a recove...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Bah, humbug! All this commercialization, and fake well wishes gets me sick! There are people who I STILL hope have a lousy Christmas. Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, John Ashcroft, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Condilisa Rice, and the rest of Bushco, Inc., not to mention, the bankers, and tra...
