Re: Working Through the Process of Grief

Chuck, Believe me when I say that I can empathize with your pain. I lost both parents and a brother within 3 years. It was simply horrible. Just when I thought things were okay, and I could get back to "normal," whatever that is, another one died. The first one was my brother, who died fro...

Re: THE CRITTER THREAD (PETS! not "Criterion disc sets")

Lori,
I suppose that it's legal for testing. I'm not sure what the laws are in your state. I think I can send it within NY, but again I am not sure. We send in entries to competitions, so it may be legal.

Re: THE CRITTER THREAD (PETS! not "Criterion disc sets")

No Frank, I don't! Mead can be sweet or dry, still or sparkling. My favorite mead is called a cyser. Generally mead is honey and water that is fermented, with my pets. Instead of water, I use good ol' Hudson Valley apple cider. It gives the yeasties more sugar to eat, thus producing more alcohol. It...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

What about more complex views like giving to the poor or being against greed? Then you have the atheists come out with their human nature bunkem and how the poor need to work harder and quit taking handouts, blah, blah. Not necessarily. One could rationalize giving to the poor as the right thing to...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

Frank, I don't find it unfair. Some morals are simply common sense. Don't harm others, and they'll have no reason to harm you. Take care of others, because at some point in time, you may need them to take care of you. There are others. Many appear in all religions. That does not mean that they are n...

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

Lori, I dunno if there is a difference. Some atheists want to control people also. As for me, I don't want to control, nor do I want to be controlled. As long as you leave others be, and don't try to preach your personal mythology, it's okay with me. Keep it to yourself, and you'll be fine in my boo...

I don't know what the "official" word for it is, but I call it pathological narcissism. And there are way too many people inflicted with it!

Re: SCIENCE VS RELIGION

We should let these poor people have their mythological displays. It's not hurting anyone. Though the people running these schools of mythology, who seek to control their minions, may have a tendency to inflict their hurt on people, the vast majority of them are genuinely harmless. Remember that the...

We don't have to take them over... We have military bases all over. Perhaps not in specific countries, but within striking distance.

You all do know that the US spends more on its military than the rest of the world combined. It's no wonder we are in the financial mess we are in.

Thanks again Tom., If I see them by the end of the year, I'll be quite satisfied. Even if Susan isn't busy with ornaments, and the like, I am sure that there are others around them, and in their area who are impinging on the general space of EVERYONE in this stupid end of year commercialism that the...

Re: THE PAVILION ANNEX

Thanks Tom,
I mailed out the two order forms, and two checks yesterday! I even sent a cheerful cover letter with the order.

How long do you figure it'll take to get the stuff coast to coast? No matter.
