I have never been to the Blair Athol distillery as far as I can remember. I have been to a couple of other ones though. There was one that for reasons both historical and prosaic, places a dead mouse into the mash of barley. Apparantly a couple of hundred years ago after making batch a dead mouse wa...

9 stories? Hmmmm Well I once did write a short article for a fanzine dedicated to the brittish author Robert Rankin alll about life in the railways of the UK, but after reading it myself I decided it was better not to submit it. Partly because its was most likely highly libelous and would have me in...

This is just a personal opinion here, but it seems to me that the whole "computer games are not art" arguement is a load of tripe. Its the same arguement as say 100 years ago when there was the "motion pictures are not art" or later the "comic books are not art" argueme...

In truth I doubt that your pet dog is going to be telepathic. however the underground society is bigotted, control freaks. Or at least they were in the first two fallout games. Having finished the first game, saved vault 13 from certain destruction the bastards told me to go away as I had been conta...

I watched the original show in the UK and thought it was wonderful. I did hear there was a US version but dont know too much about it. The BBC however did a follow on series called Ashes To Ashes, set int he 1980's but with a female transported back in time, and also starring the great Gene Hunt cha...

Fallout 3... A Boy And His Dog anyone??

Yep its come to pass that the software house Bethesda are making the third installment of the Fallout games. From what I have seen it looks stunning. Very post apocalypse and grim. The thing is that it also seem to be ripping off a Boy and His Dog. You play a survivor of the holocaust who lived in a...

Let me see. I grew up in Clydebank, near Glasgow. Famous for a couple of things really. The QE2 was built there. Wet Wet Wet are from there and went to my school (ok thats a tad embarrassing). And the actor Fulton McKay is from there (and also went to my school). Nowaday though I live in Dumfries, n...

Hmmm yes I had noticed that there was a kind of lean towards the political debate going on. Is there an election on or something ;) Frankly I feel the same about American polititians as I feel about Brittish polititians. Theyre all shifty, untrustworthy bastards who will lie through their teeth to g...

Greetings from Scotland

Hi there, I am Iain and I am a train driver. God that sounds like something from Alcoholics Anonymous. Anyway its the truth, also I am a fan of Harlan Ellison and have been for a long number of years numbering in the 20's. I was fortunate enough to find a paperback of Shatterday at a jumble sale and...

Re: Depression

I wanted to thank you all, for the message of support and the offers of support. That means a massive amount to me. I had my first session of CBT today. Made a few realisations, not revelations as such but certainly epiphanies. Realised the things I need to change, and now looking for ways to change...
