An interjecting voice

Just for the record, that post about dinners at wonderland not living up to expectations? It's a joke. I want to keep a straight face about it but also can't risk getting misquoted out of context by a trid, sped, blob, carl, drip, fink, girl, husk, itch, jerk, kyle, liar, mook, nerd, ogre, troll, et...

Re: The Winner of the Dinner Auction

You know, I've done the dinner thing at the wonderland and it's really not all it's cracked up to be. I far prefer my memory from the sixties, of having to wait outside that place (after getting a glimpse) with Ahbhu in far simpler times.

The Winner of the Dinner Auction

Did the auction winner turn out to be anybody who posts here? Perhaps a celebrity?

Halloween means Mallen Streaks

Are there any traditional meanings for the Poliosis condition "Mallen Streak" in the ancient records, I wonder? One of the lesser local creeps (in the residential where I'm apparently stuck,) a slouch who seems to specialize in blocking off the manager, developed a long, shocking streak of...

Things to do in Frisco when you're Romulan

San Francisco hasn't seen the standard Trek con in an eon, even though they've got these things down to about three-per-year now: http://www.creationent.com/cal/stsan.htm I'm goung to start negotiating right now for a lower ticket price. Be cautious, ye Klingons. Not every trysting human female in t...

Roman, the Return

Name: K. M. Kirby Source: unca20091009.htm Now that Polansky finally gets the chance--albeit against his will--to resolve all those local legal issues, the directorial A-list is probably going to see a shakeup. Picture Earth w/o S. T. D. 's

I just can't picture a world where socialization becomes somehow "safe" for the average guy. It just makes no sense.

oh yes; it's definitely spoiler time

Warning, this is not actually a spoiler. In fact, it is only a recommendation to "sit through the credits or you'll miss something" again. This time the movie is ZombieLand, and The Stinger (or whatever they call that part of the film) consists of an important performance by a real big act...

Re: In Terms of Zombie Movies -- still on topic!

I just scored a pass for two, to see a new one tomorrow called ZombieLand. Is this one like WestWorld maybe? No idea. Just thrilled to get to see it free at the fancy Market St. megaplex. I actually picked up two of these passes. One of them I left in the lobby area of my hotel this morning, where i...

man, that latest email from the closest thing to a girlfriend in my lifetime, one who's actually been living downstairs in my hotel most of this year, man, that email is a real bruiser. a crushing string of insults, couching the insistance that never again must any sort of contact occur. no attempts...

Director's Commentaries on dvd's

Name: K. M. Kirby Source: unca20091007.htm Regarding scripts, there was an interesting comment on Elizabeth: The Golden Age. The director of this movie describes a game he once played with friends, in which they'd turn off the sound on films and then provide their own descriptions of the action. In...
