Apparently the story's wrong - not a hoax exactly, but bad reporting. Well it ought to be true, even if it ain't:

You mean they thought it was common sense. A different beast.

Like it is common sense that powerful people will use that power mostly for their own purposes.

Now I get why David Koch never does interviews. He did one with Babs Walters and he was a mess. He has this tick with his eye and he seems sorta bumbling in the conversational front. Which makes you wonder why dumb people become rich. Smart folk tend to care about deeper things.

The torture report is pathetic but the Taliban are some sick assholes. Occupation sure calms em down.

Who "we"?

There have been voices opposed to the torture since it was first revealed that we were water boarding. Bush and Cheney very carefully kept it offshore, which was labeled "despicable" at the time. The crows are home to roost...

A complete fucking change of Cuba policy! Wow, even shocked me. Cuba let that doctor out of prison. Something to cheer about.

I do worry we will force them into neo-liberal economics. Always a bad thing. Slavery by the zero.

We, we pay taxes we are implicated in the torture.

Question of the day: are taxes a form of force?

That sounds very Heinleinesque. "Voting is an act of force." (From Starship Troopers) On that basis alone, sure, taxes are a form of force, insofar as they are voted on and those who vote against them and lose must still pay them.

But really, taxes are rent. Is the rent you pay a form of force?

By the way, I don't agree with it, it is a libertarian trope. I agree with Mark that it is silly. The government does use force to collect taxes but the force can be curtailed by collective force against the state, a counterforce that still packs a punch. Libertarians give too much truck towards their statist fear.

Libertarians, the hard-core survivalist type libertarians, are the ultimate self-made solipsists. They don't want to accept that they're part of anything they don't like or have a conscious say in. Adolescent nonsense.

Ironic, I was thinking the term childish. We are on a roll Mark. I got the idea from Adam Kokesh, Iraq Vet.

I will say, he does help his cause here:
