He pulled Bush's chain, you mean. Obama is helping Osama out as well, with his murdering drones.

On another front, you have to admire Egypt for not giving Mubarak the death penalty, which Islamic countries do with impunity.

Holding back is a good thing and something we should emulate.

Mike, I was agreeing with Haidt on that one point. He's not always wrong. We do break up in groups as well, but it's more complex than how he spins it.

Behaviorism was debunked years ago. You should know this, Michael. Mourn Ray with the rest of us.

Here's how dumb I am, I didn't know about the show, Through The Wormhole. A science program that asks hard questions, hosted by Morgan Freeman. They take on the God question as well as others.

Their new season has a real controversial subject: is there a superior race? According to scientists, there's more to humans racially beyond skin color. It will be something to look for--on the science channel.

This is why you need cable.

RIP Ray Bradbury
I will mourn this passing as I do all others, in memory of their efforts, good intent, and those left behind.

It was never "throned" as a primary drive (not that there ever was a throne, just theory), not debunked as a driver, it's position as a part of the developing theories of what shapes human nature is flucuating (as all the varied aspects are), but remains of great value.

you should know this, but apparently, in addition, you're either laboring under some delusion that Haidt is a "Behaviorist",
or you are unwilling, unable, or incapable of sharing how, why or where you came by this notion.

I did hear him say that in an interview.

On the human nature tact I will always take Chomsky. He studies what Haidt avoids.

I've heard that Ratzinger is stocking the den of vipers with conservative Cardinals so that the next Pope will be right wing as well. Figures. The nuns need to kick ass.

One of the minor side pleasures of visiting my family in Georgia is staying up late at night and watching TBN, the Trinity Broadcasting Network. I know, I know but I do find it entertaining. And somewhat sobering since this offers a glimpse into the thought(less) processes of many millions of our fellow citizens. Here is a recent "special" on evolution from mad dog strident atheist P Z Myers' site at his Freethought blog pharyngula.

http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/ ... ng-stupid/

Watch as much of it as you can without chewing your arm off. I'll confess I didn't make it through the whole two hours myself. Watching the young earth creationist and the old earth creationist exchange Bible verses is actually kinda funny in a sick effed up way. Of such is the kingdom of god.

Grains of sand are great, until one of them pulls out a switchblade.

Yeah, bad analogy....

Thanks Mike.
