Where to begin....

First and foremost, each of you get a heartfelt thank you. Sometimes this is the only reason I bother to get up.

Now for a few personal things and I leave you all in what goes for peace around here...

Frank, while it looks like it's been removed, but I am truly am sorry about that rather rude comment I made yesterday. Looks like my way to cope and yours don't mix well. I work on my end ad I hope you work on yours.

FinderDoug, one of the mist insidious things that depression gives you is the ability to feel badly no matter where you are or how many people you have that care about you. Case in point just a few moments ago I started crying while listening to the song Spinning Wheel, looking out the coffee shop window and realizing that no one really gives a shit. Try have things like that happening to youn24/7 and you will understand just the tip of the tip of the iceberg that people like Harlan and I deal with.

I get Barber's point but Rush lavished in his girth while you struggled with it, which is different. What's odd is the right will mock Michael Moore for being fat. They have a distorted mirror.

Rush when he showed real fear:

The problem with that is, Rush was in the right there. He was shouted down. That did not show his opposition in particularly good light, they sounded like a mob, which actually gave him---marginally---the moral high ground.

Lori, I'm not sure what I said to bring that on; but I'm keenly aware of what depression can do. I've been living with a mild form of it since my teens, as well as with my mother's my entire life.

Did the coroner have to read his report on tv? Not everything is tv time. Sick society.

Dosen't matter what started it, it's done for the time being.

And along with that goes a serious and most heartfelt apology for my attitude and the way it ended up affecting you.

Or is that effecting, I never can get that right.

Nice post over in the Pavilion this a.m. Mr Barber.

I think anyone paying attention here should pay close attention to Lori's first sentence. Treat everyone as if that sentence is true for them and we're on the road to recovery. That statement is strident in its honesty.

And, Lori: no one here should hassle you about grammar, punctuation, spelling, your likes or dislikes, or any other thing unrelated to casual conversation.Good question, though. It's "affecting." One of those little niggling things that make our language a tough one.

Sometimes this is the only reason I bother to get up.

God damn.

Ferguson is now a party. Protest should be fun. Non violent and fun.

I think its the right thing to do Frank. We now know the truth, and don't have to worry about falsehoods getting a foothold.

For your edification, or continued slide into decrepitude--whichever is more true:

I have a friend, a Costa Rican, and recovering Catholic Priest. This guy who shared with me some little anonymous details of his experiences with priests in group counseling for their issues. The one that killed him (and me) was the fellow who was into...Gay Midget Porn.

My friend's response to that admission, "DUDE! You cannot DO that!" We laughed uncontrollably as we drove our carpool to work.

He referred (with not one whit of sarcasm) to the journalist/novelist mentioned above as "the American philosopher, David Barry."
