Lori, your Giants must be sweating a little bit, now that they have Zito going today in one of the most critical games of the year.....Ain't gonna be no World Series in SF this year. The road for a championship goes through Philly and my Phightins know it. Vegas has the Phils as the odds on favorite to win it all at 3:1. Damn shame I don't have a bookie up here (have only placed one bet with a book in my life, back in Philly. Not an experience I care to repeat, even though it was not a large sum of money)

Doug, yes the possibility of a 3 way tie has been in play several times in the last few years. Last year the Twins & the Tigers had to play game 163, but there was a chance going into the last weekend of the season that a 3 way play in would have to occur. Happened a few years ago with Colorado and San Diego also, same situation. While you have an excellent imagination, that was not a figment of it

Michael, thanks forf clearing that up, I figured MLB would solve it like that, but since it has never happened in baseball history, was not certain. If the Padres do win today, as well as the Phillies, that last game of the season will be watched mighty closely by baseball fans in many cities.
Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristrocratic forms. No gov't in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, gov't tends more and mroe to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class

Glad I didn't read that. The Grand Mufti is not amused.

Offical baseball predictions:

Phillies over Reds in 3
Giants over Braves in 4

Phillies over Giants in 6

Yankees over Twins in 4 (it pains me to type this, if Petite is not healthy, I reserve the right to change this prediction)
Rays over Rangers in 5

Rays over Yankees in 7

Phillies over Rays in 6

(Psst, I think he means "me".)

(Really, not a very good mufti, let alone a grand one.)

BTW -- I'm back kids. I let myself get distracted by something here that shouldn't have distracted me.

Fortunately it coincided with the whole baseball/SportsCenter thingy. (Formula 1 and Indycar are more my, *ahem*, speed.)

So this is Kansas...

MuftiVision

Steve: "(Psst, I think he means "me".)"

Well, you should be leaving that to Frank to answer, since he knows so much about Israel and the Arab states.

But it DOES makes you pretty damn old, you geezer!

It was 1948 when they heard last from you in the Middle East, AND you had Nazi alliances. Wasn't a favorable forecast for Jerusalem at all.

And SINCE, you've been hiding out as a photographer? SLICK! Very SLICK!

Too many rules come with context. Stacks the odds against the guy who wants to twist the argument!

Phah! The only symbolism I need is in my bedroom!

Don't you understand I was trying to exploit Frank's ignorance? How could you take this away from me??

You better worry about the fact that Wisconsin is about to be tea fucked. Harry Reid as well is barely beating the single craziest candidate ever. Imagine a Stalinist running in a race with some average moderate candidate and the Stalinist coming within one point of winning, even though that person is on tape saying that they should have gulags and secret police.

By the way, the Palestinians don't even celebrate the death of the Mufti.
