Diane -- Very happy to be a little part of that world.

Mark - Nice piece. As I note, it directed me to your Thanksgiving post which was excellent. Not sure how I missed that one.
- I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

Well, it looks like we're going over the cliff. No deal from the House. Fasten your seat belts, assume crash positions.

Here's hoping for the best.

Chuck, we didn't, but it was no big deal. The cliff tends to be an invention. Markets want so bad for us to cut programs for real people they could give a damn about the true nature of our economic malaise.

Jobs, growth, better trade policy, stimulus. Them's the beast.

True, though the initial ride would have probably been like shooting the rapids, rather than going over a waterfall.

Frank Conniff tweeted:

Boehner would pass a Hurricane Sandy relief bill, but he needed to resume pursuing Valjean for stealing a loaf of bread.

That full length movie about the Munsters is worth seeing.

Frank: From the Pavilion

"Gutless, punk ass Time Warner cable drops Current Tv because Al Jazeera buys it. Do we have a fucking FCC or what? There's supposed to be no censorship. "

I'll point this out when I post there later today, but you really do need to read things like the Constitution before making these comments. Time Warner is perfectly within its rights to drop a channel because they disagree with the content.

Government censorship -- the type the Constitution takes issue with -- would be if the government told TW to drop the channel.

I've noticed you're conflating things that are wholly separate issues when you argue for the freedom to disseminate information at-will. You need to better understand the players, their responsibilities, and what can and cannot be done by government, provides and consumers.

You know, I always thought Charles Krauthammer was an irritating little shit, but he could come up with a sane, reasonable opinion now and then. Now, it seems he, like many others, has gone utterly bugfuck, batshit, apeshit, utterly howling-at-the-moon crazy. What the fuck?!?

I mean, seriously:

What

The

Fuck?!?

Why have erstwhile conservatives gone off the deep end like a legion of rabid lemmings? Is there some kind of virus, like the vampire germ in I Am Legend?

WTF?!?

Or is it all because a negro went and got elected and re-elected president? Is something latent bubbling to the surface?

I mean WHAT?!? Can we help you people?

Alan Grayson (D-Fl) on NPR this morning said flat out that the Republican Party is the party of racism. Since Nixon. I've had several Republican tell me flat out how no, it's the Democrats, after all it was the Republicans who ended slavery.

Does no one read history anymore?

The current GOP is NOT the "party of Lincoln" and Grayson is right. Sincew Nixon ('68) the GOP was flooded with disaffected Dixiecrats fleeing the Democratic Party after LBJ signed the 1965 Civil Rights Act. Jesse Helm et al were Democrats before that.

Jees.

When you bring up racism they get outraged--"there those liberals go again, playing the race card." Those nuts can play 52 card pickup with race but our side can't even pick up a hot skillet one second and put it back on the stove.

You had Dennis Miller saying that Obama is beyond a socialist. This is why I support socialism. I love being their nigger.

Codes, the idjits love codes. I know, Dennis, you have black friends.
