Oh I feel a purge coming on.

I don't wanna know what Harlan thinks when he looks at the forums.

It might be possible he would feel like he's come in on a party where 15 different conversations are going on, people yell across the room, a couple in the corner are breaking up, someone else is plotting a revolution or a murder...

Or not.

No point here except order is not necessarily sign of health and messiness disease. I haven't participated in that many boards but I have participated in one that was much more structured than this one. It requires a much less laissez-faire attitude on the part of the moderators, and since that is the case then maybe they should make the call. I'm flexible.

Gore Vidal is looking so old. Really sad. People shouldn't age. Who do I call?

Lori, oh Lori, did I wound our butterfly? In a world of equality you have to be able to swing with the menfolk. Debate is a war, bring a cup--of juice. lol

Gwynnie can take her knocks. Learn from her. I sure take mine. Unfairly, obviously. lol

Hey Frank

I'm an Iron Butterfly, just ask Gwinnie. *offering him a cup of whiskey laced coffee*

I can tale a whole lot more that is dished out here, both verbally and physically. It's just that most men of my acquaintance tend to expect a little weakness in their womenfolk, and I try my best to give it to them.

There is very little that truly offends me, and I have no problem letting those who cross the line know it.

I notice when people mention marxism, they never mention Rosa Luxemburg or Anton Pannekoek. I think there is a reason why. The main reason is because they were against a centralized state, like Leninism. So, it's easy to link socialism to Castro or Stalin or make demons like evil Hugo. The real people were pretty sensible. They both wanted worker control and democratic control over the society, a deviation of central marxism.

It's good to know things..lol

I knew you were an iron dame, Lori. Yummy. Probably why I like women like Janeane Garafolo, who scare some men.

Funny you should mention her Frank.

She's one of the reasons I've been seriously considering an attempt at being a Stand up Comic.

Frank, our Lori can whistle "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" while flogging a seven-foot-tall blue-sequined transsexual bunny on a clusterfuck waterbed at a Suicide Girls party. She definitely qualifies as being able to play with the big boys. And girls. While wearing a G-string.

Lori's comedy is going to be Stand up so, unless she wants her routines to last less than 1.5 minutes and involve a Kleenex, some pirated Prince, and a dog-eared copy of Mother Jones, no, she won't be needing your joke...erm jokes. :P

I gotta say it, he may not deny the holocaust, but Hitchens really defends David Irving here:

Why call a holocaust denier an Historian?

Maybe because before he became a "Holocaust denier" he was a historian.

Hitchens is defending free speech Frank.

Discuss.

Not a very good spin. The guy doesn't even mention "Demon with a Glass Hand," and his discussion of the similarities between "Soldier" and The Terminator, while incomplete, reveals the distinct overlap in premise between the two works.

What Douglas said. Also, the YouTube video comes from a James Cameron fan channel. He (I'm assuming the narrator of the video is the author) brushes off Cameron's own words to the Starlog reporter: "I just ripped off a couple of Harlan Ellison stories" as Cameron's trying to sound "brash" and "cynical" "rather than what he was, an innovative newcomer".

I say it's spinach, and I say the hell with it. Cameron is brash and cynical and, God help us, has a good nose for what the public want to see in a movie. No one in the film industry will challenge him, his lack of creative innovation, his lousy writing--as long as his films are mega-blockbusters. Kiss-assery for the "King of the World".

More 'writing' by Cameron (Still showing that the character of Rose doesn't actually go through a character arc -- she's a spoiled, rotten, narcissistic, borderline little bitch at the beginning of the movie and remains so through the end of her life.)

The judge agreed two times, so there must have been something on Harlan's plate. It may not be exact plagiarism, but it's close enough.
