THING TO COME

You may miss it, which is just swell, trust me.

Apparently, as do many sites, we have our outpatient plethora of remanifesting looneytunes, who post ugly and senseless snippets of their inbred lunacy. One of these appeared (again) a few scrolls down from this one, as "Subjective Bourgeois" or somesuch. Gawd willin' an' the crick don't rise, by the time you read this, our Beloved Webmaster may already have mopped up the puke. As you know, Rick always does yeoman service in catching and flensing such dreck. Usually in mere minutes. But our boy is away on family business yet he heroically assures me he'll have it gone by tomorrow. It is time-waste, as always, so kindly do yourself and all the rest of us, even you toadies, lickspittles, drones and ass-kissers who are only here to ride my glorious coat-tails and pump up my rotting senile geeezer-ego...just let it fall in the ocean. As the great Dorothy Parker put it, "...if it falls in the ocean, well, hell, then it falls in the ocean."

Smiling through the shitstorm, I remain, still, Yr. Pal, Harlan

and a beautiful example may be read at
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread309791/pg3
(scroll all the way down - last post dated December 26, 2008).

The matter concerned an old stereo slide, whose image,
it was sexily suggested by its 2002 eBay peddlar, might be
"the earliest photo of a UFO" (a cigar-shaped object aloft amid clouds).
The UFO identification was, as I say, elegantly and pretty conclusively debunked
but not until the photo had been subjected to a 3-page internet-discussion,
full of sound, if not fury, and signifying not a whole hell of a lot --
at one point, it included mention of a (perceived) swastika.

Any connection to Pavilion discussions is purely....

Harlan-

My friend Kelly Shibari, a talent/marketing consultant for adult films, wanted to get in touch with you to find out if she could use the video clip "Pay the Writer" from the Dreams DVD for a blog essay she's writing on her website. (As you can imagine, adult film performers get shafted on money from time to time.) She said she'd be willing to discuss pay if need be.

I told her Rick was probably the person to contact first, but that I'd put up a post here to make sure that was the proper channel to go through.

Please advise,
-Jordan

yfwphoto - thank you and goodnight!
ladycosmod - You got that right, Mr. Ellison.
I'm with you 100%.
Respect.
InklingStudio - Harlan Ellison is right on about this. I saw an article in the New York Times recently about Google (one of the Riche$t companies on Earth) trying to cajole artists into letting Google use their artwork for free as "skins" on the new Google browser. The artists were told 'it will be good exposure for your work" . What bs is that ?!! Why should Google or any other for-profit business use artist's work for free ? Artists, writers, composers, etc. have to pay the bills like everyone else.
ancalites - Harlan telling it how it is
jes61356 - I would love to take my distributer to the cleaners for cheating me but myt attorneys costs money. It cost me over $700 just to get my dvds back and get out of my contract. What I did learn is that if there just becasue you have a contract with a distributer does not mean that you will be paid fairly!
jes61356 - Warner Brothers is not the only distributer doing this add IMD of Portland Oregon to your list of crooks who want content for free and then won't pay.
jonathanwindham - Or how viacom who was against having a minimum wage for writers who produce the company's internet content arguing that you can't really put a price on internet content and then shortly afterward suing youtube for a BILLION dollars.
Elric33239 - It was released last month! I bought it from Barnes & Noble for about $23.00 plus tax. LOVE IT!!!!
jes61356 - He is absolutely right. Those people including distributers want us to give them our work for nothing. I just had to hire an attorney to get back my films because the distributer was selling them and not paying me anything.
Elric33239 - I hope you take him to the cleaners AND he rots in jail! Good luck!

Rick Wyatt runs this website. He has nothing whatever to do with marketing bor promotion on DREAMS WITH SHARP TEETH. Neither, in fact, do I. The film, and all business thereto, is the property of, and the conern of, Producer Erik Nelson, and Creative Differences Studio.

Call and speak to him.

Now that I have your attention:

HARLAN AND/OR SUSAN AND/OR "SHARON"? (The Lovely Assistant to Harlan Ellison whom I had the pleasure once of meeting, if I recall her name correctly?)-

I/we mailed a Priority Mail envelope to you the other day. Said envelope contains some important stuff, as requested by Harlan the other day.The tracking service tells us it was delivered on Saturday to the HERC P. O. Box.

My two cents on how to stay on Harlan Ellison's good side:

1- Don't tell Harlan Ellison what to do.

2- Don't tell Harlan Ellison what not to do.

Works for me.

I should not be a tease.

They're the property of porn star Maxi Mounds, weigh twenty pounds each, and are certified by Guiness as being 36MMM.

When I win the lottery, I plan to buy Realms of Fantasy and put ol' Maxi, buck nekkid, nipples rouged, smack dab on the cover of my first issue. With the glossiest, highest resolution. lovingly airbrushed spread the magazine industry ever shall see in the middle. If I can persuade/bribe/blackmail a half dozen Hugo and Nebula winners to write titillating tales of breastic adventure, and get Good Ol' SilverBob to do an essay on the history of breasts in SF, and Vincent Di Fate to pony up with a piece on how most of Frank R. Pauls work was a subliminal working out of his too early weaning, then I will have my dream issue complete.

Hey, it's MY Fantasy!

I had no intention of cross-posting this from one of my other social "platforms" but, oddly, after the week we have all had here I find this oddly dovetails. Your mileage may vary.

First, an article on the facts on the ground regarding the Gates kerfuffle - unless you are Mr. Gates, in which case it is far MORE than a kerfuffle.

http://crooksandliars.com/dday/actual-f ... gates-case

And here we have the POSITIVE fallout;

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/25/us/po ... gates.html

If anyone wants my opinion on these two articles (and, as Obama often says, "it's not about me) I find the tone of the first article a little shrill but Very Important in terms of having all the facts.

The second article warms me because Obama, Gates and the arresting officer ALL seem to be doing their best to reach out to one another in a situation where a standoffish attitude profits absolutely nobody.

You can say it solves nothing or that it's all a meaningless symbolic gesture. I would strongly disagree.

Harlan's involvement in the ERA, Octavia Butler's career and Dr. King's march has earned him the right to call anyone "nigger" or "bitch" he wants to. He always uses such words properly, and I wish he'd jive-talk more often.
