Yeah, I got that. I was talking to you after overhearing you talking to Frank. This is a party line after all. You want to talk to Frank without anyone else listening in you should do that while you guys still have a few minutes left in that hotel room that charges by the hour.

I just saw the trailer before watching HORTON HEARS A WHO. I have no idea what you guys saw in it, but I'm skipping this one, and I don't even need to wait to see what the critics think.

However, the wife turned to me and said that was one to see, and she slapped me after seeing my eyes roll from one end of the theater aisle to the other. Then she made the kids slap me, and then my mother-in-law slapped me. After that, the theater patrons lined up waiting to slap me, like the scene from AIRPLANE.

(By the way, HORTON isn't bad. I think the Whoville stuff wasn't really necessary, but it actually wasn't bad. And the wife, kids, and mother-in-law loooooooved it.)

I heard Spritle and Chim-Chim hang out in men's locker rooms. At least when they're not taking pictures of Trixie while she's getting undressed.

Buncha grumpy old men whining about a movie they haven't seen. Sheesh.

I saw the trailer and will go see the movie BECAUSE OF the trailer. Pretty, shiny lights. Oooooh.

I don't think I'm gonna be botherin' with this one. Least not in the theaters.

The New York Times trashed it this morning:

On the other hand, Michael Hinman at syfyportal makes a great argument for actually waiting until you see a show/film before trashing it.

- I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

IF you think it's worth risking 11 bucks!

Y'know, even when I have student ID handy them box office prices are ejaculatin' big time!

If I get the cues I'm looking for in a series of reviews - primarily on issues of narrative and character development - then I know I'm not going to blow that much cash on the damn thing.

Now, Iron Man had given me enough of the right cues to take the risk. My impressions were confirmed, the formulaically predictable ending aside.

But SR - where all I've been getting in the feedback is 2 hours of disjointed iconography - no way. If I do fancy to view it, that will be on the dvd rental.

It's too bad, actually. The earliest previews had some hints of good story material.

But the outcome, I'm convinced, is overtly catered to the computer game market. As are TOO many movies these days.
