George Carlin

I got the news of Carlin's passing only now!

It was like an anvil dropping on me.

This guy has been and will remain one of my top 10 inspirations in life.

God DAMN, what a loss!

One of my two living heros died today.

Mr. Carlin taught me the value of speaking my mind, despite what those in power felt about it. He taught me that you can think and laugh at the same time. He showed me the value of standing by what you believe no matter what the cost.

I never got to see him in concert, but I'm a living example that a life well spent can make a difference.

I only hope that I can live well enough to affect someone the way he has affected me

Much of my early political leanings started with George, not Chomsky or Biafra. He made you want to bite rainbows.

I think Carlin was one of our great social critics. He was ale to make points that few serious people are able to get away with. I could listen to his stuff for hours.

Saddly, saddly missed.

He once said in interview, on the eve of the Iraq War, "I like to come to Canada when we're ready to bomb some brown people".

I could have gone to see him. He played down town Toronto once on birthday of all days. I decided not to. Because I am a moron.

Still have his autograph on a ticket stub. Forgot I had it, then I fish in my wallet and there it is. I thought it a bit ironic that George went away in a limo. Thought he only took cabs.
