Death Metal singers tend to sound like Cookie Monster.

How about this chick:

(More like the Incredible Hulk if you ask me)

There are some great moments on "Your Hearse", but I find with Opeth they tend to slow down just when the song seems to be picking up. I find the process quite frustrating!

Their latest offering seems pretentious. Right now, I spreading the Joy of Harlan Ellison to Motley Crue.

I don't think Harlan wants their fanship.

They're not the brightest and a little TV might improve their IQs.

The new Supergroup is Chickenfoot--Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers:

Not bad.

I thought you were going to say that Satriani was slumming.

Bought the Chickenfoot CD yesterday. The MUSIC is great, and Hagar's voice, despite (or because) his 61 years, is absolutely stellar.

But the lyrics.... ugh. Atrocious! I was done with the "hey hey party hearty" lyrics 30 years ago.

If you're into a truly great Sammy Hagar supergroup, dig up HSAS (Hagar, Schon, Aaronson, Shrieve) from 1984. Very sophisticated progressive leaning hard rock.

The music isn't great. The first song I like a bunch.

Sammy Hagar aint Kafka, but I do know one thing--Satriani wants a paycheck.
