OPEN ROAD PROOFREADING EFFORT

Postby Chuck Messer » Thu Aug 28, 2014 11:26 pm

Hi, I'm just laying the foundation for the proofreading thread. I'm at work and I've still got trucks coming in. Also, I'm kind of a zombie right now. But, here's a start.

I am willing to pay for and download the Open Road version of The Beast that Shouted Love at the Heart of the World - that is, if my first hardcover Avon edition with dust jacket art by the Dillons (SF Book Club, 1969) is deemed a good source to compare it to. If our Dining Pavilion host says this is indeed the case, I'll go ahead.

Gottacook - sadly, the SFBC hardcover of THE BEAST THAT SHOUTED is notoriously riddled with typos.

Children of the Streets
The City on the Edge of Forever
The Deadly Streets
Deathbird Stories
An Edge in My Voice
Ellison Wonderland

The Glass Teat
The Harlan Ellison Hornbook
Harlan Ellison's Movie
Harlan Ellison's Watching
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
Love Ain't Nothing But Sex Misspelled
Memos from Purgatory
No Doors, No Windows
The Other Glass Teat
Over the Edge
Paingod and Other Delusions
Partners in Wonder
Shatterday
Slippage
Spider Kiss
Stalking the Nightmare

Thanks, Chuck, for the initial stake in the ground. Get some good sleep!

My copy of An Edge in my Voice was bought fro. The HERC, so if someone would be willing to help me get the On the Road copy I'll be willing to edit that one.

I also own (since the 1970s) the Pyramid paperback original of The Other Glass Teat, which is on the list. Good source?

I'd be happy to take Deathbird Stories. I think I can get my hands on a 1975 HarperCollins edition (ISBN-10: 0060111763, ISBN-13: 978-0060111762). Can anyone tell me if that is a good one?
