Re: Whatcha listening to?
I started listing to some of the soundtrack from INTERSTELLAR. It's gorgeous stuff, but certainly a niche appeal as opposed to some of Zimmer's other works.
Many of the tracks feature a stylized staccato organ motifs, reminiscent of of both Bach's Toccata in D and Fuge in a visceral mashup with several of Vangelis' earlier works.

All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

Just downloaded and am listening to some IMAGINE DRAGONS: Jeff Kashiwa (an acquaintance -- Cris performed with him a few years ago...); KOBOJSARNA; and club remixes of several Idina Menzel songs.
I contain musical multitudes.

My choir's putting on Handel's "Messiah" tonight (which I am shamelessly promoting), so mainly that one, counterbalanced by some fine (?) Scandinavian Black Metal, to match the arrival of winter.
("Scandinavian" is a really tough word to spell by the way).

Perhaps oddly, I understood Frank's post perfectly...

haha. Barber is the true deal. Love him dearly. Love you too Steve Evilson.
Ironically I saw a great choir last night. The only good Christmas music is christian.

Re: Whatcha listening to?
Frank was making the connection between religion and choir (though a choir can be from many organizations). He then stepped to "if it's a religious choir, then Steve E must be religious too" and then (tongue in cheek) "so where were you when I was getting my religious backside handed to me?"

Re: Whatcha listening to?
I'm sitting in the lobby of The View Hotel in Monument Valley. It's dark and cold outside, while a nicely burning fire takes away the chill as it crackles away in a large stone fireplace in the middle of the room.
On the hotel's audio system is some wonderfully beautiful and mood setting Navajo instrumental music. At the moment a lone flute is playing a solo piece, with a spiritual and slightly sad overtone to it.
It's a wonderful moment.
