Author's Note on the short story "Susan"
from Mind Fields:
My wife's name is Susan. Some idiot reviewers have said that this
epigraphic fable is autobiograpical. They are fools with lumps of
coal for hearts. This is a valentine, pure and simple. To the
sun in the sky. And a little lament for lost time. The first
"old man" thoughts I've ever had.
